Our client based in the Northern Cape is looking for a HSE Coordinator to develop, administer and ensure continual improvement of the company: Operations & Maintenance Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management Systems to assure âindustry best practice. Education and Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
Operations and Maintenance Solar Plant experience
5+ years’ experience on HSE management position
Experience in risk assessment and audit processes
Samtrack or equivalent training
SHE Supervisor training or equivalent
Incident investigation L3
Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA) training
Planned Task Observation (PTO) training
Broad knowledge in risk assessment and audit processes
Proficient on Word, Excel and Power Point computer programs
Sound understanding of HSE legislative and other requirements
Basic environmental training
Basic electrical or mechanical training (N2)
ISO 45000 Internal Auditor training
ISO 14001 Internal Auditor training
Passionate about HSSEQ
Excellent English oral and written communication skills
A team builder with good communication skills and a capacity to engage audiences across all levels

General HSE functions
Support site management on the implementation of the company HSSE Management Systems.
Support site management on HSSE objectives and targets including relevant management programs.
Support site management on legal and other requirements compliance.
Health and safety functions
Support site management and team(s) on the development of risk assessments.
Support management on the development of training matrix, plans and coordinate trainings.
Facilitates on accident/incident investigations with site management to ensure root causes, preventative and corrective actions identified and implemented.
Hold regular workshops to raise awareness on incidents and incident reporting.
Support management on contractor management, ensure contactors comply with the company requirements and applicable legislations.
Ensure inspections are carried as per requirement.
Ensure that statutory Health and Safety Committee meetings are held quarterly, that minutes are taken and that action arising out of the meetings is logged with a target date and responsible person assigned.
Conduct internal HSSE audits (quarterly) as per audit schedule.
Conduct contractor HSSE audits (second party) as per audit schedule.
Participate on external HSSE and quality audits.
Liaises with authorities and other stakeholders on health and safety related matters.
Compile and submit health and safety reports as per requirement
Environmental management functions
Support site management and team(s) on the development of aspect and impact register(s).
Ensure compliance with environmental authorisations, permits, WULA, consents and other requirements.
Conduct regular environmental inspections.
Liaises with authorities and stakeholders on environmental matters.
Participate on environmental and social audits
Other functions and activities
Develop HSSE control documentations.
Assist on the implementation and maintenance of the company quality management system.
Support site management on general security management.
Coordinate legal permit (HSE related) applications.
Develop calibration programs and coordinate equipment/tool calibrations.
Compile and submits HSSE reports to line management as per requirement
